Tanda integrates with Shopify to automatically import your sales and transaction data. Due to Shopify's policies around third-party apps, this integration requires you to set up a custom app directly in your Shopify account. Once connected, Tanda automatically imports your sales and unit data so you can roster staff based on real customer demand.
Follow the steps below to get this configured.
In Shopify:
Log in to Shopify.
Go to Apps > App Settings.
Click Develop Apps > Build apps in Dev Dashboard.
Click Create app.
Name the app and click Create.
Under API access, enter "read_locations,read_orders,read_products".
The other information on this page is optional and can be left untouched (or configured otherwise), but the read_locations, read_orders, and read_products scopes must be entered for the integration to work.Scroll down and click Release.
Then, click Install App on the app overview page:
Choose the store that you want to link to Tanda.
You will be taken to a confirmation page. Review what the app can access, then click Install:
Your app is now ready for use. Go to Tanda and log in to continue the integration process.
In Tanda:
Go to Settings > Integrations > POS Integrations:
Click + Add POS Integration and search for Shopify.
Click the Shopify tile and then click Connect to Shopify:
Enter the Shopify store URL. You can find this on the settings page in Shopify:
Enter the Client ID and Client Secret. Find this in Shopify by going to Settings for the app in your Dev Dashboard:
You can also optionally name the integration and include tax and/or tips.
Click Save to complete the integration.
Configure Sales & Connect Data Streams
Once set up, you can see your sales being imported under Integrations > Manage Data Streams.
The integration will pull transactions and sales by the Locations set up in Shopify. You should see these created within ~5 minutes of connecting the integration, with data continuously imported in 15-minute intervals thereafter.

From here, you can link the data streams to specific locations and teams to be used elsewhere in the system. See this guide for more on configuring this.
Using Shopify Sales Data in Tanda
Sales data is available across Tanda and can be used to analyse performance and inform staffing and budget decisions. These areas include:
Live Insights: View a breakdown of predicted vs actual sales and rostered vs actual staff counts for each day directly in the Dashboard.
Recommended Staff: Streamline rostering by using sales forecasts to recommend staff numbers in the roster based on expected demand.
Labour Budgets: Use integrated sales data to help compare budgeted amounts against predicted revenue, helping you better configure cost budgets and plan rosters accordingly.
Roster Statistics: Customise what data you see in the roster to view predicted sales and statistics like Wage % Revenue or SPLH.
Cost Reports: View actual and predicted revenue in cost reports to analyse performance, monitor labour costs against revenue and identify variances against sales forecasts.
