NOTE: We are aware of the decision handed down by the Fair Work Commission (FWC) on the 13th April 2026 varying the SCHADS Award.
This decision clarified the operation of shift penalties for shifts worked either side of a sleepover and added a new daily overtime arrangement for employees working sleepovers.
We are currently in the process of reviewing the decision and determining what changed will be made to the four SCHADS Managed Award Templates.
We will send out communications regarding any changes to the Managed Award Templates and actions required in the coming weeks.
Please note that this case is not yet finalised and there will be a subsequent hearing for the remaining issues yet to be determined in September of this year (2026).
