Lightspeed Kounta O-Series POS (Australia & NZ)

Requirements for Lightspeed Kounta POS and linking it in Tanda

Lightspeed Kounta POS is a cloud-based Point of Sale system which you can integrate with your Tanda account to feed in your POS data to track sales and create costed rosters.

How it works

  • Tanda automatically imports data from Lightspeed Kounta every 15 minutes

  • Imported data is broken down into separate datastreams in Tanda based on 'Register' in Lightspeed Kounta, across every site in the connected company

  • Each datastream contains two separate data types:

    • The amount of sales (in dollars) within the 15 minute period

    • The number of transactions processed within the 15 minute period

Lightspeed Kounta POS Requirements

  • In order to integrate Tanda with Lightspeed Kounta POS you will need to have the Manage or Extend level account, which gives you access to Add-ons.

  • Within Lightspeed Kounta POS, you'll need to enable two Add-ons before you can integrate with Tanda:

In Lightspeed Kounta, navigate to Integrations and select Tanda:

Select Enable.

Tanda Requirements

Once you've set up the integration in Lightspeed Kounta POS, you can connect it in Tanda. Navigate to Settings > Integrations > POS Integrations > + Add Integration.

Search for and click on the Lightspeed O-Series Kounta POS button.

Then click the Connect to Lightspeed O-Series (Formerly Kounta) button.

If you're logged into Lightspeed Kounta POS already, Lightspeed will just ask for authorisation to link the two accounts, otherwise you will be prompted to log into your Lightspeed Kounta account.

Include sales tax in revenue totals is deselected by default. This means Tanda will attempt to deduct sales taxes from your totals when importing sales data.

Click Save at the bottom to save the integration. Tanda will then import in real-time your sales data, which you can use for Rosters, Reporting and on the Dashboard. Have a look at the Import your Revenue Data article for more information.

Connecting more than one Lightspeed company

Most businesses only need one connection. Every site and register inside a single Lightspeed company flows into Tanda automatically, each as its own data stream. You only need a second connection if your venues sit in separate company files in Lightspeed.

To add another company, go back to Settings > Integrations > POS Integrations > + Add Integration and select Lightspeed O-Series Kounta POS again. Sign out of the first Lightspeed company first, or use a private browsing window, so the authorisation screen signs you in to the second company. Each company then appears as its own integration on the POS Integrations page, with its own registers and data streams.

Before you connect a second company: make sure Include sales tax in revenue totals is set the same way on every Lightspeed connection in your Tanda account. If the settings differ, some registers can import revenue with tax and others without.

If a new data stream appears named Kounta POS instead of Site name - Register name, you can rename it on the Manage Data Streams page. The sales figures are still correct.

If you ever need to remove Lightspeed Kounta POS from Tanda, just click Disconnect Lightspeed Kounta POS in this same screen. If you have connected more than one Lightspeed company, disconnecting one leaves the others active.
