Tanda/ offers an integration with the Paychex payroll system to automatically keep employee information up to date in the Tanda/ system.

Information Checklist

In order to integrate Paychex with your Tanda/ account, you will need the following pieces of information.

API Credentials

You will need to request API credentials (API key & API secret) from Paychex that includes permission to access the following endpoints:

  • GET company jobs

  • GET company labour assignments

  • GET company workers

  • GET company locations

  • GET worker communications

  • GET worker pay rates

Company ID

Your unique company id in the Paychex system. It should be a combination of letters and numbers.

Job IDs (optional)

If you wish to only import users with a particular job, you can specify which job(s) by listing their id(s) in the appropriate field.

Configuring Integration Settings

  1. Name your integration

  2. Enter CompanyID and API credentials

  3. By default, your integration will periodically check for new staff in Paychex and import them into Workforce. If you would like to disable automatic import, simply uncheck the Auto Import Staff box.

  4. You can also configure your integration to automatically import teams based on either Job or Labour Assignment.

  5. If you would like to import only employees with certain Job IDs or assign award tags to employees based on fields from Paychex, you can configure them under the Advanced Settings menu. If you configure these after your initial import, they will not be applied until the next time Workforce syncs with Paychex.

  6. Once you've finalized your settings, click "save". At this point, Integration setup is complete. Please refer to the syncing or import options below for next steps. If any issues arise, please consult the Troubleshooting section

Import Staff

Workforce will import all non-terminated employees with information populated from the following fields:

  • Name

  • Employee ID

  • Email

  • Phone

  • Date of Birth

  • Start Date

  • Hourly Rate

  • Job Title

  • Location ID

  • Award Tags (see Importing Award Tags)

  • Labour Assignment

How to Import:

  1. Go to /staff page

  2. In the top right corner click "Add Staff"

  3. Go to "Import Bulk Staff"

  4. Select the "Import From" drop down menu

  5. Select "Paychex"

Troubleshooting and FAQ

How often does the automatic syncing process happen?

The automatic syncing process occurs approximately once an hour.

Can you integrate multiple Paychex files to a single Workforce account?

Client Authentication Error

If you encounter an error during the import process, double check that your Company ID, API Key, and API Secret are valid. Contact us if the issue persists.
