You can import your staff into Tanda from Xero with the click of a button. Before you do this, it's worth checking the following in Xero to make sure you have your account setup correctly.

In Xero

  1. Your user account must be a Payroll administrator. Go to Settings > General Settings > Users, choose your name, ensured the Payroll Admin box is ticked.
  2. Your Xero organisation should be activated for Payroll. You can check by going to Payroll > Overview:
  • Payroll Accounts set
  • Employees added: it helps if all your staff have a Phone Number and Email entered in Xero so this imports into Tanda
  • Set your pay calendar: ensure this matches your pay period start in Tanda, i.e both start on a Monday. All staff should also have this pay calendar set on their profile in Xero under the Employment tab.

Importing in Tanda

In Tanda, go to Workforce > Staff:

On the right, click on + Add Staff:

In the pop-up window, at the bottom select Import from > Xero Australia.

If you've already connected Xero to your Tanda account, you'll be able to confirm this is the correct file to import from. If it is just click anywhere in the box:

If you haven't connected it yet, click on + New payroll integration > click on Xero:

Next, you'll see a pop-up window to login to Xero. Enter your Email address and Password for Xero and click Login:

You’ll then be redirected back to Tanda, where you’ll see a progress indicator and once your staff have been imported you’ll see the list of them.

If there are any staff listed that you didn't want to import into Tanda, you can deselect them.
