This help guide will detail how to configure, edit, and manage payroll checks in Tanda via the Central Pay Check Report.
Note: Only users with Admin-level permissions can access and update these settings.
Payroll Checks Explained
Tanda's Payroll Checks allow you to configure new and existing validations that check important payroll information is accurate and valid. These checks can be configured to either block you from performing an action entirely or warn you that certain conditions aren't being met.
For example, you can configure a check that warns you if a shift overlaps with a leave request or one that blocks you from publishing a roster without valid start and end times.
Configuring Pay Checks
To enable shift checks, navigate to Settings > Timesheets > Shift Checks and tick 'Enable shift checks.' You will also be prompted to configure checks on this page.
Alternatively, you can configure pay checks and shift checks by navigating to the Central Pay Check Report via the Reports tab.
For quick and convenient access, you can also pin this report via Actions > Pin Report. Then, click 'Configure Checks' to access and configure all of our pay checks. Remember, you need admin-level permissions to do so.
The following types of checks are configurable:
Organisation Settings
Employee Settings
Shift Settings
Timesheet Settings
Shift Break Settings
Payslip Settings
Tax Declaration Settings
On this page, you can configure each individual check to be either blocking, warning, or disabled. Alternatively, you can use the bulk actions menu to mark an entire section as blocking, warning, or disabled.
We regularly add to these checks, so it's worth visiting this page occasionally to configure any newly added checks.
Running the Central Pay Check Report
Once you have configured each pay check, it's time to run the Central Pay Check Report. The Central Pay Check Report aims to bring all of the common checks performed by a payroll officer into one central location in Tanda, making this process more accurate and convenient.
To run this report, set your criteria using our dropdown menus, including the date range, categories, and severity. To quickly re-run this report in the future, you can save these set criteria via Actions > Save As Custom Report. Once you're happy, click 'Generate.'
From here, the report will generate, showing any checks that violate your criteria, plus a convenient link to fix the issue.
This way, you can easily view and fix any payroll-impacting data in one convenient location before finalising a pay run.
