Shift patterns can be used to ensure shifts are fairly distributed to staff while meeting employee contracts and business needs. An example of a shift pattern could be 6-4; six days on followed by four days off.

Create a pattern

To create a shift pattern:

  1. Select Schedules Patterns from the schedule side bar. This may be called Roster Pattern or Rota Pattern depending on your account locale.
  2. Select Edit Patterns.
  3. Click '+ Add New Pattern'.
  4. Specify pattern details, including name, anchor date (the date the pattern comes into effect), and length.

Add employee to pattern

To add an employee to a pattern:

  1. Open the relevant pattern.
  2. Click '+ Add User'.
  3. Select a user.
  4. Specify details of the employee's schedule pattern, including shift details, start date, end date, and days offset. 'Days Offset' represents the day of the pattern the employee is starting on. For example, an employee starting on the second week of a two week cycle would have a day offset of 8.
  5. Confirm Save and Close.
  6. Repeat for all employees needing to be scheduled on this pattern.

Apply Shift Pattern

To apply a shift pattern:

  1. Select Schedules Patterns from the schedule side bar. This may be called Roster Pattern or Rota Pattern depending on your account locale.
  2. Select the pattern you would like to apply.
  3. Confirm '+ Build Shifts'
