Templates are an efficient way to create schedules week-to-week if you have defined shifts or a fairly consistent schedule.

Create a Schedule Template

To create a template, you can start from scratch or use an existing schedule.

Create a template from scratch

To create a template from scratch:

  1. From the main navigation bar, head to Schedules (or Rosters, Rotas depending on the account's location).
  2. Open to any schedule overview.
  3. Select Quick Build from the schedule sidebar, followed by Templates.
  4. Click + New Template, then Create a Blank Template.
  5. Specify the template name, included locations, start date, and length. This can be edited later if desired.
  6. Select Edit Template.

Once in the Editing Template mode, you can create the shifts you would like to include in the template. Shifts can be assigned to certain employees, teams, and times or field can be left vacant - it's completely up to how you prefer to schedule!

Create a template from an existing schedule

  1. From the main navigation bar, head to Schedules (or Rosters, Rotas depending on the account's location).
  2. Open to the existing schedule you would like to use as a template.
  3. Select Quick Build from the schedule sidebar, followed by Templates.
  4. Click + New Template, then Create Template from Currently Visible Shifts.
  5. Specify the template name, included locations, start date, and length. This can be edited later if desired.

Then, the next time you go to create a roster, or if you refresh, you will be able to see your recently created template.

Apply a template

To apply a template:

  1. Select Quick Build from the schedule sidebar, followed by Templates.
  2. Search for and select the template you would like to use.
  3. Click Apply Template.
  4. Specify what date you would like to apply the template to, what shifts to include, and if you would like to override any existing shifts. If you do not select 'Remove existing shifts' the template will be applied in addition to existing shifts.
  5. Confirm Apply Template.

Delete a template

To delete a template:

  1. Select Quick Build from the schedule sidebar, followed by Templates.
  2. Choose the template you would like to delete.
  3. Click Delete Template.
  4. Confirm 'Ok'.

Once deleted, a template cannot be recovered and would need to be created again.
