Exporting from Tanda

Once you have created your Wage Easy Payroll Integration, you will be able to export your timesheet data into a file readable by Wage Easy. From the weekly/fortnightly timesheet view, choose the Export to Payroll button, situated to the top right of the page.

You will be taken to the Timesheet Export Preview page. Here any errors on your timesheets will be flagged. You can easily check each timesheet and when you are ready to export click Export Timesheets.

The data exported reflects the timesheets that are currently displaying. So, if you are only viewing an individual employee’s timesheets, you can export just their data into Wage Easy.

When you click the button, a file will be downloaded to your computer. The file has the extension .wtc (“Wage Time Cards”), but it is structured like an XML file, so you can open it in your web browser too.

Importing into Wage Easy

You can import the .wtc file using the automatic processing wizard in Wage Easy. In Wage Easy, click on Wages, then Auto. The wizard will open, and ask you where the .wtcfile is located. Choose the Import Time Cards checkbox, and the file that you downloaded when exporting from Tanda, then click Next to begin the import.

Wage Easy’s import of your time and attendance data may take some time. You will see a progress bar while it is working and when the process is complete, you can click Finish if there were no errors.

What is imported?

For each shift, the start and finish times, as well as the department worked are included in the export to Wage Easy.  The department is taken from the team attached to each shift in Tanda.  To ensure that the import works correctly, you should ensure that the Department No. on each department in Wage Easy matches to the payroll export name of the relevant Team in Tanda.  Leave is also imported to Wage Easy, and this just matches the leave types between the two systems.

Manually added allowances will also be included in the export.  These are allowances that don't apply on a regular basis (such as a first aid allowance or penalty loading) as these can be set up to apply in Wage Easy.  The types of allowances that are included might be an overtime meal allowance or per km travel allowance.  Similar to departments, to ensure these import correctly you should make sure that the Allowance No. in Wage Easy matches to the export name of the relevant Allowance in Tanda.
