There are a few scenarios where you may need to change your staff member's pay rate in Tanda.
The Staff Member Goes Up a Level
If you're using a Tanda Managed Award Template and your staff member goes up a level, you can just select the new level on their profile.
Go to Staff and My Team and click on the staff member's name to go to their profile.
Click on the Payroll tab and on the right hand side where the Award is selected, click the drop down box next to Classification/Level:
Select the new level and then click the Update Employee Details button at the bottom to save this.
When you go back into the profile and the Payroll tab, you'll notice the Pay Rate has been updated to the new level.
If you're using MYOB Live or Xero, Tanda will automatically push through this updated rate.
If you're using another Payroll system, just update in your system the new Base Rate figure in the staff member's profile.
Pay Rise or Paying Above the Award
Go to Staff and My Team and click on the staff member's name to go to their profile. Click on the Payroll tab and then next to the Base Hourly field enter the correct rate:
Tanda Managed Award Template: the number in the Base Hourly field will overrule the award level, so if you need to pay someone above award just enter the figure there.
Regardless of which payroll system you use, you'll then need to manually update this higher rate in your payroll system so the staff member is paid above award. This field doesn't sync with your payroll.
Tanda configured with your own pay rules: Enter the rate in Tanda and the profile of the staff member in your Payroll system. This field doesn't sync with your Payroll.
They're a Junior and Have a Birthday
If you're using a Tanda Managed Award Template, Tanda can interpret, based on the Date of Birth entered on the staff member's profile when they go up a year and need to be paid at a higher rate.
If their birthday falls mid pay period, the change will take effect from the next pay run.
MYOB Live or Xero: Tanda will automatically push through the updated rate.
If you're using another Payroll system, you'll just have to manually update this in the staff member's profile in your payroll system.
If you have a lot of juniors, it might be a good idea to run the Pay Rate Changes report every time you do payroll, that way you know if you need to update any rates in your payroll system.
In Tanda, go to Reports and Pay Rate Changes.
Select the relevant period, and any staff who have changed rate during this time will be brought up, so you know what Base Rate to change in your Payroll System.
