Tanda Payroll can connect directly to MYOB, allowing you to sync your journal account codes from MYOB into Tanda and export payroll journals to MYOB automatically, rather than manually uploading files.
Connecting Tanda Payroll to MYOB
Before you can sync accounts or export journals, you need to connect your Tanda Payroll file to MYOB.
Follow the steps below to do so:
Navigate to Payroll > Payroll Settings > Company Setup.
Choose a Company File if you have more than one.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Accounting Integration section.
Click Connect to MYOB and log in to MYOB when prompted.
Once connected, you'll see confirmation that the integration is active on that page.
You can disconnect at any time by clicking the disconnect option on that same page.
Syncing Journal Accounts from MYOB
If you already have account codes set up in MYOB, you can import them directly into Tanda instead of recreating them manually.
Import your account codes from MYOB by following the steps below:
Navigate to Payroll > Payroll Settings > Journal Setup (Accounts).
Click Sync from MYOB in the top right.
A window will appear showing the accounts found in MYOB. These will be either:
+ New: Accounts in MYOB that do not exist in Tanda yet. Syncing will create a new account using the name and code from MYOB.
Update Code: Accounts that exist in both but have different codes. When the name of an account in Tanda matches MYOB, syncing will update the account code in Tanda, based on the one set in MYOB.
Already Linked: Accounts that already match, no action needed. Syncing will not change anything.
Select which accounts you want to bring across, then click Sync Selected to bring them into Tanda.
Tanda will pull accounts from all of your company files' accounting integrations. You can select or deselect individual accounts before syncing if there are some you don't want to bring over.
This is also a useful way to fix mismatched codes before running a journal export. If your account codes do not match MYOB exactly, the system will flag it during the pre-export check, and syncing is the quickest way to resolve this.
Exporting Payroll Journals to MYOB
Once the Accounting Integration is connected, you can export a pay run journal directly to MYOB.
Open the relevant pay run under Payroll > Pay Runs.
Click View Journal Entries to view the journal for that pay run.
Click the Export to MYOB button. Note that this will only appear if you have already set up the accounting integration.
Tanda will run a check before exporting. It will confirm:
Your company file is connected to MYOB via the Accounting Integration
Your journal account codes in Tanda exactly match those in MYOB
If all checks pass and the journal is balanced, click Next to export to MYOB. The journal will not export if there are any errors or the journal doesn't balance.
After successfully exporting, you will see a confirmation showing what was exported, when it was posted, and the journal ID assigned by MYOB.
If you need to redo an export, delete the journal directly in MYOB and then export again from Tanda.
